Philosophy
Philosophy is the gathering of wisdom. It is difficult, but worthwhile. Philosophy is creatively considering what you already know. It is realizing what you take for granted and reassessing it to see what is there that you did not notice before.
Socrates once said that he was the wisest man he ever met. He came to know this by going around, talking to the supposedly smartest persons alive, until he realized they were all lying morons. He considered, ‘Well, at least I realize I don’t know anything. That means I’m ahead of these fools. That makes me the wisest person!’ Fortunately, I actually do know some things. That makes me wiser than Socrates, who admitted he knew nothing. This is a good start, but I hope to prove that I am more than just more philosophically savvy than the greatest fictional ancient thinker.
Philosophy blossoms with experience. Experience both in philosophical thinking, and in the real world. Thus, I spend my time thinking and constantly attempting new things. This is the path to enlightenment. You will never find it by remaining alone, keeping your eyes closed. Although this may help the reflective process, you must first find plenty of fodder for your mind to ponder.
Go forth and learn. Then apply. Then reassess. This is philosophy.
